21.11.08  Solid Steel radio show - The Qemists & PC (Classic Edition)

Chalk & Cheese (21st November) The Qemists step up to the front this week and its all about D&B! A mix recorded a month or 3 back show casing some of the best of the scene at that moment in time. Chase & Status, Spor, Sub Focus, Brookes Brothers all get a look in as well as some well placed reworkings including Inner Party System and Rage Against The Machine. And of course some of The Qemists very own style of bone-shakers feature. Check the current single Lost Weekend featuring rock legend Mike Patton and watch this space for the next offering featuring Wiley. 2009 belongs to The Qemists! We dip into the dusty archives once again for a vintage edition for the second hour. This time round we're back in the mid to late 90's with a mix from PC from DJ Food, labeled 'African Steel' on the DAT, he mixes all manner of percussion together, both old and new, traditional and contemporary. Burundi beats and thumb piano collide with downtempo breaks and Photek on 33rpm instead of 45. The track list is unavailable, but expect a journey all over the globe, managing to be in several places all at once. Catch the second part featuring Strictly Kev's Dark Star Sci-Fi mix at BosBos.net.

12.11.08  Thunderheist steal your face

If you haven't heard of this Toronto-Montreal duo, you're going to know a lot about them, through Big Dada. The latest signing comes correct with some serious d-floor shit, hooks, bottomless bass (that's endless), bottomful booty, and mad appeal. Be on notice of this slew of dates, and learn yourself with the "Jerk It" video:

11.11.08  The Long Lost gets found

Matrimonial duo The Long Lost, the life and musical partnership of Alfred (née Daedelus) and Laura Darlington, appears at long last with the "Woebegone" single release, featuring two album songs from next year's "Amiss", and count 'em two Flying Lotus remixes of the title track. Sentimental songs, crafted gently, exploring the breadth of the Daedelus family talent. Buy it from iTunes or from the Ninjashop.

03.11.08  Vote Obama Way!

To show our support we'd like to make you aware of these fantastic tribute videos.Taz and Daedelus present Vote Obama! probably the catchest tune you're going to hear this year, CocoA tea's - Barack Obama and of course Motorhead's tribute It's Obama, It's Obama. Let us not forget The Boss himself endorses Obama. Fuck what yo mamma say.
